Rain or Condensation is easily drawn between the surfaces of stacked sheets. This is trapped moisture cannot evaporate easily, so it can cause deterioration of the coating, which may lead to reduced life expectancy or poor appearance.
If materials are not required for immediate use, stack them neatly and clear the ground.
If left in the open, protect them with waterproof covers. Do not store sheets where people might walk over them.
If a stacked or bundled sheet becomes wet, separate it without delay. Wipe the sheets, with a clean and dry cloth, and stack them. Allow them to dry thoroughly.
Handling sheeting on Site
On large building projects, reduce the handling time by lifting the bundles with a crane from the delivery truck onto the roof frame.
Use spreader bar for long sheets.
For medium size projects, without mechanical handling facilities, unload sheets by hand and pass them up to the roof one at a time.
Do not slide sheets over rough surfaces or over each other.
For personal safety, and to protect the surface finish, wear clean and dry gloves before handling the metal sheets.
